The Chicago and Far Western RR is a rural short line serving the communities of Pixley and Hooterville with a branch serving Crabwell Corners. The railroad had been an isolated, local operation until an agreement was reached with the SLSF to provide a connection to the outside world. New track from the Frisco main to the C&FW was virtually built in a day.
Major customers include Drucker's General Store, Ziffel Pig Farm, O.W. Douglas Farm (Green Acres), and Mr. Haney. The Cannonball provides service as needed to serve customers on the line.
