Commodities are what can be used in the Lading field in the Waybill Edit view. To view a list of your current commodities, click the Commodities link in the Navigation Menu. For full access to this section you need to be logged in.

To edit an existing record click the Edit link in the Options column of the list for the record you want to edit. To create a new record, click the New link located at the top of the list.

The form for adding and editing a commodity are as follows:

• Commodity - The commodity name. This should be a short name of the commodity in as few words as possible, not a detailed description.
• AAR Car Types - This field holds one or more AAR Code types that can be used to ship the commodity. The values in this field will be displayed in the Cars section in the Waybill view when editing a waybill where the lading exactly matches the commodity.
• Generate These Commodities - A semi-colon (;) separated list of loads for commodities that could be generated based when this commodity is delivered. Eg ANIMAL FEED;BAGGED PRE-MIXED BREAD PACKS;BEER . For Generated Loads to be active, the “Show Generated Loads” setting in the railroad settings needs to be set to “Yes”. There also needs to be an exact match for the Commodity to be generated in the Freight Out field in the Industry that the shipment is delivered to.

To save the data entered, click the Update button at the bottom of the form.

To delete the record, tick the Delete checkbox underneath the Update button, then click the Delete button that appears.
